History: Childhood: Illusion doesn't remember his real mother and father. All he knows is that they died in a fire. He lived at the orphanage for the first 6 years of his life. The orphanage never really trusted him with a Pokemon, so he went and caught his own. He stole an Ultra Ball from one of the older kids at the age of four and walked out into the night. No one knew that he had done that. So in the morning, when he returned with a playful little Ghastly, they were all surprised. He was allowed to keep the Pokemon, mainly because the Ghastly was overly protective of him. The Ghastly taught him to prank others, turning him invisible or levitating him. He startled many a foster parent and nun. No one would adopt him because he was either too rowdy or too mischievous. He obtained the nickname "Illusion" because the other kids would always tell him he was "like an illusion or a mirage". He decided that "Mirage" was too girly and called himself "Illusion". When he was 6, a nice couple came into the building. As always, Illusion was lifted into the air by his Ghastly (whom he had nicknamed Ghosty and had been night-training and Illusion was sure would evolve into a Haunter soon) and dropped onto the couple. However, instead of knocking the person over, he was caught by the man, looked over, and adopted. His Ghastly came with him. He forgets the name of the town he grew up in often, but he at least doesn't forget his foster parents' names. He stayed there until he was 13, at which point he set out with Ghosty the Haunter to train and become the best he could be.
Teenage/Adult years: As Illusion grew up, he eventually got to Kirttail Town. Along the way there, he caught a Stunky (who he named Stink Bomb and who had also completely ruined his sense of smell), a Seviper (who he named Blade and also got his eye blinded by by accident) and a Golbat (who he named Crow). At the age of fifteen, he was taken under the Gym Leader's wing. He trained constantly, leveling up his Pokemon and evolving them. Ghostly became a Gengar, and Stink bomb became a Stuntank. By the time he was 18, his Pokemon were high enough leveled to match his mentor in a fight. However, his mentor was old and passed away shortly after, making Illusion the Gym Leader. To try to cover his sense of grief, he flirted with the girls who volunteered at the Pokemon Center. They tended to fall under his charms, and he slowly pushed his grief to the back of his mind. Should anyone mention his mentor's death to him, he would become withdrawn and stop speaking. People stopped mentioning it, though most were less than amused at his pranks. He met Jugo at 19 years old, a Honchkrow who just would not stop following him. He slowly taught the Pokemon English, and he sometimes lets the Honchkrow help him prank others. So far, he has only lost to five people: the Elite Four and the Champion.
