Ooh New Friend? (Felix)

[Midna]

It was a dreary day, with dark clouds covering the sky and light rain pattering against the ground. The sun wasn't giving off much light, and it seemed like nobody really wanted to be indoors. Even the fishermen and swimmers who probably wouldn't have minded getting soaked were inside.

However, Honey Kakashi was outside. Unlike the people running to shelter from the rain, she wanted to be outside.

"Hey, Alfred," she called to her Leavanny up ahead, "see any?"

The green Pokemon stopped to shake his head no and keep looking. Like Honey, he didn't mind the rain. When she had mentioned that she wanted to go outside and look for rare Bug types, he had happily offered to go along. It had been a long time since he would have been worried about this much rain. He wasn't a Sewaddle anymore, stuck in that horrible storm...

His blonde trainer moved to his side, blue eyes wide with excitement. She was still bubbling with happiness, even though they had been drenched by the rain a while back and hadn't found a single bug Pokemon. Right, she was another reason why he had gone with her. Honey was his closest friend. Nobody else would have cared for him and helped him to get better when he was that sick. It was a pity that he could never tell her thank you, but he would show his thanks any way he could.

Then Honey's gaze snapped to the side, and a huge grin spread across her face. "There!" Alfred turned just in time to see a blur vanish into the trees. "That looked like a Larvesta! Wow, those are rare! Come on, let's follow it!" With that, she ran after it, her Pokemon gracefully following her.

After a few minutes of running, Honey had to stop. She just couldn't run anymore. Knowing that there was no way he could catch the Pokemon without Honey even though he still had tons of energy, Alfred stopped too. His trainer was frowning now, obviously disappointed. "I guess I'm just not fast enough. Darn it, those really are rare..."

Her Pokemon put a hand on her shoulder, and even though he couldn't make a sound, she understood. "Yeah, you're probably right. If it lives here, I might see it again, but still..."

Suddenly her face brightened. "Hey, is that a cave? I didn't know that was there. I haven't been this far out before. Maybe some Bug type Pokemon are in there? There could be another rare one. Want to explore?"

Alfred nodded, answering all of the questions at once. Her energy returned, Honey started off towards the cave. "Let's go then!" Together they entered the cave, for the moment not bothered at all by the darkness inside.

[Snow]

In the very deepest part of the cave, a Pokemon floated in the center of a hollow. He looked up as he heard something living enter.

"Oh, my," Felix chuckled. "Guess there's more intruders to frighten off..." Levitating towards the entrance, he took a complicated path towards the two beings. A human girl and her Leavanny. How fun. Bug-types were always a little skittish around him, he wondered why? It wasn't like he hadn't lived in this cave for a very long time...

Invisible, Felix set up a rough, loud cackling. He threw down the sign that used to be in front of his cave. In sharp, strange lettering, if one were to look closely enough they'd see the message.

STAY AWAY

DANGER

And below that, in smaller, harder to see lettering-

I DON'T NEED COMPANY

He cackled again, his voice cracking with the effort of being used. "Don't stray farther, little Trainer," he cooed, becoming just a little visible to them both as he floated away down the cave. "It's what's good for you~."

And yet he couldn't help but be a little sad. He'd been lonely all his life. The Bug Pokemon didn't come near him, the other Unown often avoided him out of their aversion to their own kind. Even humans didn't normally talk to him. Keh, he didn't need anyone. He floated down a simpler path towards his deep hollow. 

About halfway there, he became fully visible, sure that the girl and her Pokemon were gone now, scared away by his prank. He lazily levitated a rock into his hand and floated up to have his stomach to the cave ceiling. He began to etch Unown lettering into the ceiling, writing out "another day, another person, another prank, another pang of loneliness".

Once done, he sighed and flipped over. "I guess I shouldn't have really tried to scare her. There's a lot of water coming down from the sky, and humans don't seem to like getting wet." A drop of icy cold water drips onto his neck. He doesn't even shudder. "Raining so much it's even dripping through down here. Oh well." 

He landed softly on the ground, tapping at one of the rock walls. "Now, how do I get this to open again...?"

[Midna]

Inside, Alfred started to get a little nervous. It was darker in here than he had expected, and who knew what kind of Pokemon lived in here? Maybe one that ate bugs? Or humans? What if it went after both of them? He moved a little closer to Honey. She didn't seem nervous at all. Then again, she never really seemed nervous, even when it looked like she might lose a battle... He wished he had her confidence.

Then there was a loud cackle from inside the cave, and Alfred jumped. Now he was hiding behind his trainer. What was that? A Ghost-type? Or worse? Honey didn't seem fazed though; she just looked around the cave for the source. "Hello?" she called, "is someone there?"

Suddenly a sign clattered to the ground right in front of her. This time Honey did take a step back, more in surprise than anything. Then she knelt, turning over the sign to read it. "Unknown Cave," she said quietly, "Stay Away. Danger. I don't need company."

She looked up again as the voice spoke again, curious eyes searching the cave for the source. It laughed again. The message was ominous, and she could have sworn she saw something moving away from them. A Ghost-type, most likely. Alfred tugged on her arm to go back towards the entrance, but she just squeezed his hand reassuringly. Not looking away from the spot where the ghost had gone, she said softly "I don't think that's a bug Pokemon in here. Unknown Cave... It could be an Unown. And it sounds lonely. I think I'll take a look. Maybe I can get him to come out."

She started forward, then stopped when Alfred didn't move. "Alfie? You can go home if you want. I'll be okay here on my own."

Alfred hesitated, then shook his head no. He was scared, but he wouldn't leave her. She gave him a hug. "Don't worry, Alfie. We'll be okay. It's just a lonely little Pokemon."

They walked almost silently through the cave, neither really daring to make a sound. Honey never let go of her Pokemon friend's hand. It seemed like they had lost the owner of the voice in the cave. Once a drop of very cold water dripped onto Alfred's head and he would have screamed if he could have, but it was just water and he soon realized that.

Then Honey saw someone. She smiled when she saw the Pokemon-boy tapping at a wall. This must have been who was talking. "Hello!" she said cheerfully, "What'cha doin'?"

Alfred wasn't really sure it was a good idea for her do that, but it wasn't like he could go back in time and stop her. Ohh, they never should have come...

[Snow]

He didn't notice them until the girl spoke. If it was possible to kill him, he just died. He jumped and twirled around, staring at her with wide eyes. Felix swore that he was just seeing things, being so lonely, but no, he could see the Bug-type Pokemon behind her. He tipped his head to one side, a little confused.

Then he floated closer, studying her carefully. Finally, after a bit, he harumphed and settled back down at his wall. "If you absolutely have to know, I'm trying to get it to move. There's a special way to do it. I did it a few days ago... or was it months..?"

Since he never left his cave, he really didn't have a good sense of time. Whatever time was. Without really thinking about it, he uses his one and only move, Hidden Power, to levitate a rock into his hand and he absently scratched at the wall beside the big rock.

"Maybe if I just..." Using his power, he jerked his arm back to try and move the rock. It shifted only a little, but that was enough for the Pokemon. He floated up and settled down on top of it. "Yeah, there's the thing that boy dropped. I guess I should give it back... but it's not like he's going to come back to look for it, right?" He was mostly talking to himself, and he'd kind of forgotten about the other two.

At least, until he'd managed to levitate the item into his hand and he turned around again. He scowled. "You're weird. Why aren't you scared of me? I could trap you down here forever if I wanted to. All it would take is a little flick of my hand..."

He doesn't really finish that sentence. With a flick of his hand, he could bring down the entire cave. But then what? A dead girl, a dead Pokemon, and his home would be destroyed. With a flick of his hand, he could also collapse just part of his home. But even, the risks he would have to take. There would be no telling if he made the rocks collapse and kill the girl and her Pokemon.

He tried not to kill people. Injure, terrify, torment, sure. But kill? He hoped not to have that on his conscience.

Felix floated over to the girl, still scowling. "Go home. A cave like this isn't for a little girl like you." He pokes her in the forehead, perhaps a little roughly, but definitely not rough enough to make her cry or something, right? Hopefully. "You won't find a lot of Pokemon here. Just me, and other Unown whenever they feel like showing up. So get lost."

But he didn't really mean that. He'd rather she stay, if only so that he could ignore her and still know that she was there. Her Leavanny was weird, too. Why didn't it go running off calling for help? Or maybe it was mute. Maybe. Not that he cared or anything. No, he definitely didn't care what happened to this girl and her silly little Bug. Definitely not. He just didn't want to be all alone again, that was all.

So, why couldn't he convince himself of that?
