Each Trainer character starts out with some pretty cool stuff. You'll get these when your app is accepted.
Every Trainer, no matter what type, gets:
-5 regular Pokeballs
-10 regular Potions
-1 Badge Case (for gym badges)
-1 Pokedex
-1 Bicycle
For Starter Pokemon, you can basically pick any Pokemon. There are a few requirements though:
- It cannot be a Legendary
- It can't be Shiny or Specially Colored
- It has to be lvl 20 or below
- If it has an evolution, it can't be on its final evolution. So you could have a Zorua but not a Zoruark. You could however have a Ditto
Breeders are an exception. They can pick two Pokemon, but there are still some requirements for them:
- They have to be in the same Egg Group
- Neither can be Legendary
- Neither can be Shiny or Specially Colored
- Both have to be lvl 15 or below
- If they have evolutions, they can't be on their final evolutions. So you could have a Zorua but not a Zoruark
- No Dittos please. You might get one later
- They can be the same Pokemon, but they don't have to be
